Award-Winning Key Art: Spider-Man: Far From Home
I created several movie posters for Spider-Man: Far From Home, and I was selected to be part of the main social and digital campaign, much like Zombieland 2: Double Tap.

The focus of this project was to highlight the central characters, particularly the proposed friend turned villain, Mysterio, and to foreshadow his betrayal of Spider-Man.

To achieve this, I set several key objectives that guided my creative process:

  • Creating an Intriguing Visual Narrative: My goal was to draw in the audience without revealing the movie’s plot twists. I wanted the poster to spark curiosity and excitement, introducing Mysterio as a new character who might take on the role of a mentor, similar to Iron Man and Tony Stark. This angle would not only engage fans but also set the stage for Mysterio’s complex relationship with Spider-Man.

  • Developing Unique Concepts: Faced with the challenge of not having any existing assets for the campaign, I decided to think creatively. I sketched over 30 different layouts and ideas, allowing my imagination to explore various possibilities. Knowing I could create the necessary assets in 3D and Photoshop gave me the freedom to experiment without constraints.

  • Maintaining a Minimal and Clean Aesthetic: I wanted the poster to have a minimalistic and clean design, qualities that I appreciate in movie posters. By focusing on balance and simplicity, I aimed to ensure that each element of the design contributed to the overall impact. This approach helps to avoid overwhelming the viewer and allows the central themes to shine through.

  • Utilising the Logo as a Design Element: The logo played a crucial role in the composition, serving as a holding device that visually separated the two main characters. By positioning Mysterio to appear as if he is stepping out of Spider-Man’s shadow, I aimed to symbolise his emergence into a more prominent role. This visual metaphor highlights the tension between the characters and sets the tone for the story.

Through this comprehensive approach, I aimed to craft a visually compelling poster that not only captured the essence of the film but also maintained an air of mystery. I hoped that it would resonate with the target audience, inviting them to explore the rich narrative and character dynamics within Spider-Man: Far From Home. Ultimately, the goal was to create artwork that excites and intrigues fans, leaving them eager to experience the film.
