Cherry Blossom
In partnership with Outernet London and the National Trust, I developed a full CGI animation designed to connect audiences with the beauty of the natural world. This project aimed to transform London from the gloom of winter to the vibrant emergence of spring, highlighting the stunning allure of cherry blossoms.

Key to the project's success was a thorough understanding of the installation space, ensuring seamless transitions and implementing new systems in both Cinema 4D and After Effects.

Essential Tools Utilised:

  • Cinema 4D: For 3D modelling and animation, allowing for detailed and dynamic visual effects.

  • Redshift: Used for high-quality rendering to achieve photorealistic visuals.

  • X-Particles: Employed to create fluid simulations for the blossom animations.

  • Fused: Utilised for integration and managing complex workflows.

  • Taiao: Leveraged for enhancing the environmental elements and overall aesthetic.

Challenges and Solutions:

  • Crafting Growth Animations: Developing the growth animation for both the branches and blossoms presented significant challenges due to intricate details and the volume of elements required.

  • Detail Management: Ensured each element was accurately represented while maintaining animation fluidity.

  • Visual Richness: Focused on achieving a rich visual quality that enhances the overall impact of the animations.

I am delighted with the final result of the CG Blossoms, which excelled in both animation fluidity and visual richness. The project not only met but exceeded expectations, providing a captivating visual experience that aligns with the creative vision.
